Mayor of Kingstown season 3 had a slow start, but it did introduce the two antagonists of the season– a Russian mobster named Konstantin and an Aryan gang leader, Merle Callahan. So it’s obvious now that these two menacing forces are going to make Mayor Mike McLusky’s life a living hell, but how? Well, I’ll try to explain it along the way. Also, the first episode of the third season takes place some 2-3 weeks after the events of season 2, so there might be a lot of things that old and new viewers wouldn’t be able to pick up on, so I’ll connect the dots.
Spoiler Alert
How Did Miriam Die?
Mike’s mother, Miriam, who used to teach at the correctional facilities in Kingstown, suffered a fatal gunshot at the end of season 2 when Mike’s worst nemesis, Milo Sunter, arrived at Mike’s family house looking for Iris.

More than 30 unhoused were removed Friday from outside of Sunset Sound, the iconic recording studio used by such artists as Elton John, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones and Van Halen.
The long-standing encampment outside of the Hollywood studio has been a source of ire in the neighborhood, while the owner has reportedly complained about sidewalk fires and break-ins. The clean-up was orchestrated by Inside Safe, Mayor Karen Bass’ initiative to remove the unhoused off of Los Angeles streets and into city-leased housing.
“Many people living at this encampment have been in the same area on the street for over five years, and now they are finally able to move into housing because of Inside Safe,” said Los Angeles City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez in a statement. “With 100% of unhoused residents accepting services and housing through this operation, we are proving that when we do the hard work to find sustainable housing solutions,...

Taylor Sheridan’s extensive body of work, from Yellowstone to Special Ops: Lioness, and all other projects in between has brought out the best and the most brilliant of works from Hollywood-certified A-listers. Among them, Jeremy Renner stands out on top, not for the gritty realism of his series, Mayor of Kingstown but because of Renner’s miraculous journey from near death to full recovery.

Despite the threat of never being able to walk again, Renner defied every medical impediment to start filming exactly a year after his snowplow accident. The days spent on set since then may not have been easy but they are a testament to the superhuman strength and sheer force of will contained within the 2-times Oscar-nominated actor.

When Ron Nyswaner got word he was set to receive a permanent place on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, he learned there were options for its final destination.
“I walked up and down Palm Canyon [Drive] one day in April, and I watched all the tourists come out of the restaurants and walk all over people’s names,” the Oscar-nominated writer and Fellow Travelers creator explained. “I’m not sure that I really wanted to be walked on by lots of people, but when I came up here and I saw that there was at least one star near the [LGBTQ Community Center], I knew this was the home for my star.”
That home was unveiled Thursday morning during a dedication ceremony in Palm Springs that featured comments by Nyswaner, close collaborator and Fellow Travelers executive producer Robbie Rogers, the show’s star Jelani Alladin and Palm Springs Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein. The dedication...

Plot: In season three, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Renner) to end the war but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.
Review: Twelve months after his near-fatal accident, Jeremy Renner began production on the third season of Mayor of Kingstown. I guess the only question Mike McLusky asks himself is: What will happen to Kingstown if he isn’t around? Often called the Mayor (not the literal one), Mike is the Hermes of Kingstown. The one who acts as a link between two worlds. There are around seven prisons within a ten-mile radius of Kingstown, holding up more than 20,000 prisoners. The prisoners don’t trust the prison guards, and the gangsters don’t let the cops come anywhere near them. It’s a sensitive situation. Gang wars and prison riots can break out at any minute, burning the entire town into ashes, and therefore, Kingstown needs its Mayor, Mike McLusky, more than anyone else.
Long story short, it was Mike’s father who started the family business of incarceration. I know that sounds wrong, but that’s how Mike defines it. Mike’s father used to facilitate deals between the prisoners and police,...

Daredevil: Born Again recently secured a March 2025 release on Disney+ and fans remain eager to see which characters from the Man Without Fear's past join him in the MCU.
Jon Bernthal's Punisher has already been confirmed to appear alongside Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, though rumours of Krysten Ritter showing up as Jessica Jones are still swirling. Recently, the actress appeared to confirm that with an Instagram post which saw her decked out in Jessica's "Save Our Souls" t-shirt from the show.
However, her "Iykyk" caption might not have held as much meaning as some fans hoped.
Asked by Collider whether she realised the speculation about an MCU return that post would create, Ritter responded, "No, I didn’t. I have the shirt. It’s a great t-shirt. It's one of my favorites and I was wearing it. I was like, 'Oh, cute! Is anyone gonna recognize my shirt?...

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers and updates for Friday May 31 tease pesky press leaks, new missions and suspicious hospital visits.
Next On General Hospital
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) is upset about a press leak, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) has a new mission, and John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) makes a suspicious hospital visit.
Pesky Press Leaks
It looks like Mayor Laura is confronting Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) in her office, as she asks “who got this information and leaked it to the press?”
Laura is pretty upset about the information that’s been leaked, but which information might she be talking about-there are several situations in Port Charles.
There is the investigation into Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) culpability for her crimes since she’s had cobalt poisoning and the investigation into Pikeman Security Group, just for two.
Perhaps someone saw Jordan on one of her casual dates with...

Jeremy Renner may have said goodbye to Mission: Impossible‘s world of espionage, but that doesn’t mean he would never return to the role of William Brandt.
The Hawkeye star entered the franchise in the 2011 installment, Ghost Protocol. At the end of 2015’s Rogue Nation, his character retired from his career in the Impossible Mission Force.
In an interview with Collider, Renner revealed there was one particular reason he left the franchise, despite reports at the time that he was being groomed to take over the lead role from Tom Cruise.
“I had to leave that,” the Mayor of Kingstown star told the publication. “I was supposed to do more with them. I love those guys. I love Tom so much. We had so much fun, and I love that character a lot. It requires a lot of time away. It’s all in London. I had to go be a dad.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s creditors reprimanded him for his appalling “spending habits” and poorly managing his finances.
On May 28, Giuliani’s creditors called on a judge to appoint a trustee to examine his finances as part of his ongoing bankruptcy case. They stated in a court filing that he was blowing off obligations he experienced when he filed for bankruptcy on December 21, 2023.
“More than five months ago, the Debtor commenced his bankruptcy case,” the filing stated. “One might ask what he has accomplished during that time. An objective review concludes that he has accomplished almost nothing.”
The filing condemned the former New York City mayor for his “egregious spending habits” during the bankruptcy proceedings.
“After the Debtor provided the Committee with the American Express credit card statements as supporting documentation … the Committee gained insight into [Giuliani’s] egregious spending habits,” it stated.

The American Western may have long passed its heyday, but the genre has endured throughout the years. While the visuals and ideas it addresses may change, the basic foundation continues to draw fans. After all, where else can you pit man versus man versus the environment on such a large scale? The Dead Don’t Hurt seeks to continue this legacy. The sophomore feature from Viggo Mortensen finally debuts in America after hitting the fall festival circuit. Featuring an excellent performance from Vicky Krieps as its face, The Dead Don’t Hurt mostly plays like a traditional genre exercise. However, using an immigrant couple at its center speaks to the changing landscape in American life.
The Dead Don’t Hurt Plot
Vivienne Le Coudy (Krieps) passes away with her husband, Holger (Mortensen), at her side. At the same time, Mayor Rudolph Schiller (Danny Huston) requests Holger help bring a local crime to justice.

Artists are now, officially, in residence in Hollywood.
Officials from developer Thomas Safran & Associates, the Entertainment Community Fund and the City of Los Angeles gathered for a ribbon cutting and open-house celebration at the Hollywood Arts Collective’s Cicely Tyson Residential Building on Wednesday to launch the 151-unit tax credit property in the heart of Hollywood.
The seven-story property — named after the late icon and located at 1630 Schrader Blvd., near the Hollywood Walk of Fame — houses apartments, all of which are occupied exclusively by artists (defined as someone who has regularly engaged in an artistic, creative or cultural practice and who pursues such practice on a professional basis) and their families. Residents were selected first by lottery, then based on income requirements and other factors.

Editor’s note: When Christopher Nolan’s eventual Best Picture Oscar winner Oppenheimer began its global rollout last summer, a question mark hung over whether it would ever see the inside of a cinema in Japan, given the sensitive subject matter. Ultimately, the film released there eight months later, swiftly becoming the top-grossing Hollywood title of the year and continuing to hold that position (now at $11.6M). Nine weeks in, it is still playing on more than half of the market’s Imax screens, and in local currency (¥1.774B) is Nolan’s fourth-highest-grossing picture ever there.

Many of us thought that Jeremy Renner returning to movies and TV was an impossible mission itself. But now he is on a tear, returning for Mayor of Kingstown and showing genuine interest in reprising some of his franchise roles. The MCU’s Hawkeye would be one of the more obvious choices, but what about Brandt from Mission: Impossible? As Renner suggested, that is one he could absolutely return for.
Speaking with Collider, Jeremy Renner said current conditions may make him ready to reprise William Brandt, the useful Imf analyst he played in 2011’s Ghost Protocol and 2015’s Rogue Nation. “I had to leave that. I was supposed to do more with them. I love those guys. I love Tom [Cruise] so much. We had so much fun, and I love that character a lot. It requires a lot of time away. It’s all in London. Plot: Vincent, one of New York’s leading puppeteers and creator of the hugely popular children’s television show, ‘Good Day Sunshine,’ struggles to cope with the loss of his son, Edgar, becoming increasingly distressed and volatile. Full of self-loathing and guilt around Edgar’s disappearance, he clings to his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet, Eric, convinced that if he can get Eric on TV then Edgar will come home. As Vincent’s progressively destructive behaviour alienates his family, his work colleagues, and the detectives trying to help him, it’s Eric, a delusion of necessity, who becomes his only ally in the pursuit to bring his son home.
Review: The idea behind Eric, as depicted in the trailer for the series, is a fascinating concept. A man driven to the edge of sanity after the disappearance of his son bonds with an imaginary monster created by his child to rescue him.

As we have previously seen in Maestro in Blue season 1, the main focus was on the mystery surrounding the murder of the abusive Charalambos. It was later revealed that the mayor’s son, Antonis, was responsible for the crime, trying to save his boyfriend Spyros from him. Mayor Fanis tried to cover it up by throwing the body into the river, taking help from Maestro Orestis and Charalambos’ son, Spyros himself. Now let’s talk about Season 2. Here, we see that this season has taken a different approach. The first season was all about suspense and the unfolding drama, but Season 2 shifts to a more philosophical perspective. It delves deeply into human relationships, moving on from past trauma, and the emotional struggles of being involved in a crime and trying to move forward. At first, we thought Detective Demosthenes would expose everyone involved in Charalambos’ death, but that didn’t happen,...

In Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scene, we learned Eddie Brock had decided against travelling to New York to confront the web-slinger. However, when he was sent back to his reality, Venom left a piece of himself behind.
That has to be touched on eventually, and with Peter Parker friendless and alone, now could be the right time to take Spidey down a dark path.

Sometimes, we crave another chance, while we run away from it other times.
On When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 8, Tom Thornton attempted to make amends to those from whom J.B. Sweeney had conned money, and Joseph and Jacob Canfield settled a 20-year-long grudge.
Rosemary and Bill also met with Clayton Pike to clarify his name.
Even though the NYC police arrested J.B. Sweened and recovered the money that Ned wired them, Tom could still be charged as an accessory to fraud unless he paid back the money he owed Benson Hills and Jameson.
Tom was willing to take responsibility, but everyone stood behind, most of all Nathan and Elizabeth.
They formulated a plan to host their own choir festival with neighboring towns and collect donations.
Everyone was on board. The problem was Rosemary was so excited that she spilled the beans to Mayor Hickman, who wanted Tom arrested immediately.

Hey, do you remember "Poseidon"? The 2006 action pic from director Wolfgang Petersen is a remake of the 1972 disaster epic "The Poseidon Adventure," as well as an adaptation of Paul Gallico's 1969 "The Poseidon Adventure" novel. The story focuses on a cruise ship that gets hit by a tidal wave and flips upside down. The survivors have to then claw their way to the bottom of the ship, which is now the top. Lots of characters die horribly along the way. It's fun for the whole family!
The star-studded remake cast includes Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Richard Dreyfuss, and the late, great Andre Braugher. Russell is probably the biggest name of the bunch, and the actor plays Robert Ramsey, a character who is both an ex-firefighter and the former Mayor of New York City. His history allows him to sort of take command of the situation, although he's really mostly concerned...

Based on the assassination of the celebrated Mexican TV personality Paco Stanley, Prime Video’s Who Killed Him? tells the story of what led to this assassination. After Jeremy Renner was involved in a horrific accident in January 2023, many doubted that the actor would recover, let alone be able to return to work on his Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown. Renner had suffered blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones after being hit and run over by a snowplow on his property. He told Good Morning America that he was too “worried about real life” to think about working on the series but explained that there was a “perspective I had to shift” to make it happen.
“I had to cross the threshold of, ‘Do I want to go tell fictional stories?’ I’m worried about real life — putting a foot in front of another to walk,” Renner said. “I think what happened is we just switched the thinking of the whole thing. I didn’t go to Pittsburgh to film Mayor of Kingstown, I went to go...

After creating the critically acclaimed western series Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan teamed up with actor Hugh Dillon to write his next big show, Mayor Of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner in the lead. After gaining a lot of success with fans and critics, the Paramount series has now been renewed for a 3rd season which will air in June 2024.

While the series premiered in 2021, Sheridan wrote the pilot script as early as 2011 even before Yellowstone was conceived. Despite many major production houses and networks showing interest, Sheridan refused to give in owing to one steadfast condition that he had for the series which he was unwilling to compromise on while envisioning it.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and nearly a dozen other allies of former President Donald Trump have pleaded not guilty to felony charges related to a “fake elector” scheme in Arizona.
The plot allegedly aimed to falsely declare Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential election in the state despite Joe Biden’s clear victory.
Giuliani, who once served as Trump’s personal attorney, appeared at the hearing remotely and without legal representation. His trial date was set for October. Despite his insistence that he was “capable of handling” the proceedings, the judge ordered Giuliani to appear in person within the next 30 days for booking procedures, which include a mugshot.
Additionally, Giuliani was required to post a $10,000 secured-appearance bond, a standard measure for defendants considered flight risks. This could prove challenging for the former mayor, who filed for bankruptcy last year after he lost a $148 million defamation lawsuit.

I’d love to know when Taylor Sheridan finds the time to sleep. Paramount+ has announced that production on Lioness season 2 is now underway in Texas. The espionage thriller series is inspired by an actual U.S. Military program and follows the life of Joe (Zoe Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror.
In addition to Zoe Saldaña, Lioness season 2 stars Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, Lamonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier. Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman round out the star-studded cast. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+. As you can see from the image above, Sheridan will be helming the third episode of the new season himself.

‘Queen of the Deuce’ Review: A Fun Footnote About a Behind-The-Scenes Mogul of the Sexual Revolution
Over half a century ago, movies were changing at warp speed, with censorship boundaries falling and artistic ones expanding, as remembered from such game-changers as “Bonnie and Clyde,” “I Am Curious (Yellow)” and “2001: A Space Odyssey.” You probably do not remember the likes of “Whip’s Women,” “Come Ride the Wild Pink Horse,” “Once Upon a Body” or “Scare Their Pants Off!” — and good luck finding them now, since many such disposable late-1960s “adults only” features are assumed lost now. But they, too, made the ’60s “swing,” while making fortunes for individuals like the subject of “Queen of the Deuce.”

Judge Juan Merchan scolded lawyer Robert Costello for his behavior during former President Donald Trump’s New York hush money trial.
On Monday afternoon, Merchan cleared out his Manhattan courtroom of jurors, spectators and the press so that he could dress down at Costello, who was there as a key defense witness for Trump, after he made a frustrated comment about the judge’s rulings, according to a court transcript.
The transcript also mentioned that the lawyer commented under his breath and rolled his eyes.
The judge told Costello that his behavior during testimony was “contemptuous.” Costello frequently angered the judge, in part by speaking after objections were sustained.
“Geez,” the lawyer muttered after Merchan sustained several prosecution objections to his testimony.
He also called the whole exercise “ridiculous.”

Nathalie Emmanuel’s first trip to the Cannes Film Festival was certainly a memorable one.
The “Fast and Furious” franchise star and “Game of Thrones” alum knows what it’s like to be in the spotlight, but Cannes is unique. First, consider the fact that she’s the leading lady in legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola’s longtime passion project “Megalopolis,” which made its world premiere at the festival. Then, there’s the reality of ascending the famed red steps to the Palais des Festivals.

During his 80th birthday party, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was served with a legal notice from Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes‘ office. On Friday, Giuliani celebrated his birthday at the home of Caroline Wren in Palm Springs, California. The party hosted around 200 guests.
Outside Wren’s home, two officials from Mayes’ office approached Giuliani with a notice of his indictment. Giuliani was involved in an alleged ploy to overturn Arizona’s 2020 presidential election results. The event caused panic among some guests. Some screamed while a woman cried. Giuliani, however, appeared calm during the ordeal.
Ted Goodman, spokesperson for Giuliani, stated, “The mayor was unfazed by the decision to try and embarrass him during his 80th birthday party. He enjoyed an incredible evening with hundreds of people who love him—from all walks of life—and we look forward to full vindication soon.”

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about the narrative of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
Exclusive: One of the many talking points to emerge from this week’s Cannes Film Festival screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s epic Megalopolis is whether distributors will be able to replicate the film’s ‘fourth wall moment’.
As most reviews for the film detail, at a certain point in Wednesday’s world premiere a performer walked onto the stage in front of the cinema screen and engaged with Adam Driver’s character in a device known as “breaking the fourth wall.”

Jean Labadie, who runs the film’s French distributor Le Pacte, told Deadline: “We certainly will do a lot of such performances. With four screenings a day in many...
